Notes :
(1) Dick Franklin comments: We were due to run with electric to Carnforth then steam to Hellifield. Because of the wires being down between Preston & Lancaster it was decided to diesel haul us from Crewe to Preston (RR) thence via Blackburn and Clitheroe to Hellifield, unfortunately missing out the steam run from Carnforth (advertised to have been 4498 'Sir Nigel Gresley' or 4472 'Flying Scotsman').
(2) 40015 originally uploaded as 40012 in error.
(3) Travel from many joining stations was possible with service trains being used to/from the main tour for an all-inclusive price.
