Notes :
(1) For visit to NCB Mountain Ash. Train stopped at the former up platform and passengers had to walk to the NCB site. John Thickitt comments that the tour literature carried the following comments: "The Society deeply regrets that it has been informed by the N.C.B. Western Area, that in the interests of safety due to engineering work associated with the installation of a conveyor, it will not now be able to carry the party on its private line. Alternative arrangements have been made for the tour party to visit the N.C.B. works at Mountain Ash where a number of steam engines are overhauled and stabled. One engine will be in steam and at work for the benefit of photographers and sound recordists. In view of the current N.C.B. policy to discourage such visits and DoE restrictions on passenger trains working over freight only lines, the Society is extremely fortunate to be able to offer this tour at all".
