This day proved to be particularly cold and the two Type 2's were unable to heat the twelve coach train satisfactorily- efforts to replace them proved unsuccessful. This first week of March had seen some heavy snowfall over much of the country. In the event the match was not played, despite the arrival of the fans. It was re-scheduled for play on 25th April 1970.
