(3) John Clifford comments: This was planned to be a trip to the Mid Norfolk Railway (M.N.R.) and back using two Class 31s and a Class 47 in top and tail mode hauling a Class 442 E.M.U. This part was called 'One Last Task'. Then there was to be a final trip to Ely to get the stock back to Papworth Sidings under the title of 'Last Orders'. The M.N.R. was holding a diesel gala over this long weekend. The tickets duly arrived for the tour and the timings appeared. Then, about a week before it was due to run, we were told that it was cancelled as the Class 442 was out of gauge at several locations.
