Notes :
(1) It is reported that the start of the tour was delayed by a loco failure (37611?) on the E.C.S. from Crewe. The outward leg was originally booked to run via: Basford Hall Jn - Crewe Salop Goods Jn - Sandbach - Wilmslow - Stockport - Denton - Ashton Moss North Jn - Baguley Fold Jn - Philips Park West Jn - Manchester Victoria - Ordsall Lane Jn - Salford Crescent - Bolton - Darwen - Blackburn. However this was changed  on the day to run via Warrington Bank and Wigan Quay, presumably to make up lost time. Confirmation required.
