Notes :
(1) John Clifford comments: train was originally advertised for haulage by D1015 to Bristol Temple Meads, 777 & 34067 to Penzance then D1015 back to London. 34067 was still undergoing an overhaul so 70013 was substituted, then 30777 was found to be out of gauge for the Cornish Main Line so 44871 was substituted. However, 44871 was limited to 60 mph so in the time available it was a choice of steam Bristol - Par or Exeter - Penzance; the latter was chosen. On the day the only delay was at Exeter on the outward run. The move here was to remove 47760 from the rear of the train, run it round to the front, then both locos would retire to Exeter diesel depot for servicing before going to Penzance for the return trip. Meanwhile the two steam would be attached to the train. All this took longer than allowed. However there was a lengthy water stop at Plymouth so the final leg to Penzance was run roughly to time.
(2) 35517 & 14099 were only in the consist when 44871 & 70013 were on the train.
(3) 47760 on rear.
