(1) It was possible to book onto either or both trains.
(2) Two noteworthy claims were made for the North Downs Rambler: - this train was the first opportunity for nearly 30 years to travel behind steam over the entire length of the New Line and also to travel behind steam eastbound over the Guildford to Redhill line.
