Notes :
(1) The 31's substituted for booked 45106 which was failed before the tour. Robert Clark comments; on 3rd February 1989 45106 suffered terminal fire damage at Cricklewood. 45128 was then reinstated by Intercity as a replacement, but in fact this locomotive was the failure before the tour, when its main generator failed. It was then withdrawn again, and so ended BR operation of class 45s. In effect the 31s were a replacement for 45106, which suffered terminal fire damage, and 45128, which was a failure before the tour.
