Notes :
(1) Route & loco confirmation required. Originally uploaded as out via
Carnforth and returning via the S&C however subsequently, upon reading the group
options, the routing has been revised to somethign which makes more sense.
Various group options were on offer;
Group 1: spends their time sight-seeing in the vicinity of Carlisle.
Group 2: leaves the train at Carlisle joining our special DMU train departing at
13.30 for Ravenglass, arr. 14.58. There will be time for sight-seeing before
departing Ravenglass 17.10 for Carnforth, arr. 18.35.
Group 2a: same as group 2 except a round trip will be provided over the
Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway.
Group 3: leaves the train at Carlisle and joins road coaches in the station
forecourt for Longtown, Canonbie, Newcastleton, Kielder Water, Bellingham, Wark,
Chollerford bridge and Hexham. There will be a stop for refreshments before
continuing via Brampton to Carisle.
Group 4, 5 & 6: should change trains on arrival at Hellifield. A special DMU
departs at 11.34 for Carnforth, arriving 12.11. From there there road coaches
took participants on various routes and destinations in the Lake District
