(1) The late departure of this tour was awaiting a connecting scheduled service from Kings Cross, this being the 13.04 Kings Cross to Cleethorpes which was delayed due to binding brakes and subsequent restriction to a maximum speed of 45mph.
(2) Alan Osborn queries the number of the trailer car - he had it as 56409 - confirmation someone please? [The 1978 Locoshed shows 50594 as a NR (Norwich) allocated vehicle. 56409 began the year allocated to GF (South Gosforth) but then moved to HT (Heaton) whereas 56419 was, like 50594, NR allocated...thus the use of 56419 would appear more likely].
