Notes :
(1) Further details required, including if this proposed week long 'tour' actually took place. When applying for tickets the participants were required to confirm if they would use their own car (or not) and, if yes, how many spare spaces they would have available to the other tour participants (who had indicated they required transport).
(2) Advertising leaflet comments that it was expected to be able to see over 150 industrial steam locos (mostly still working) together with 60 preserved locos. Seaside accommodation was to be used 'as much as possible' and approx cost for the week was anticipated to be around £21
(3) On the rear of the advertising leaflet was a booking form for the '21st Anniversary Dinner' which was to be held on Friday 1st May 1970. The meal was to start at 19.45 at the Stephenson Room, Euston Station, London. The advertised menu was;
Consomme Madriliene;
Escalope of Veal Viennoiso, French Fried Potatoes & Garden Peas;
Rhum Baba;
Cheese & Biscuits;
Coffee.
Principal guest at the dinner was to be Mr T.C.B. Miller, Chief Mechanical & Electrical Engineer of the British Railways Board. other guests were to include 'representatives of British Railways, the preservation movement, the railway press and others who have done much for the club over the years'. Cost of the meal was 35/- (35 shillings) and included wine and gratuities.
Dress code for the men was dark lounge suit and 'only LCGB members, their wives or lady friends were permitted to attend' due to the limited capacity of the venue.
