Notes :
(1) Visit to the Guinness St James Street brewery which still operated a 22" gauge railway (truncated from its original 8 mile length). No indication given of any haulage other than as given in note (2).
(2) Reported as: A special diesel-hauled train was provided to take the party through the spiral tunnel (2½ turns at 1 in 39) which connects the brewery level to the despatch area.
(3) The main tour was reported to have started on Saturday 6th June however the tour stock was used on Friday 5th as given above. Total mileage for the day: 114½
(4) CIE 198 on rear.
(5) Except where expressly stated, the tour locos did not run top-n-tail as might be suspected; light engine movements allowing relocation and preparation of the locos took place at each handover point.
(6) CIE 130 on rear.
(7) Reversal points not detailed.
(8) CIE 186 on rear.
(9) CIE 130 stalled on the 1-in-65 grade and CIE 186 was summonsed to assist.
(10) CIE 186 was failed at Claremorris.
