(1) For visit to Swindon Works. Pre-tour advertising stated 'passengers from Manchester may have to travel by service train to Crewe to join the special train'. Colin Hughes comments: I recall going through Wolverhampton as we saw D0260 'Lion' there. I also have a photo of 'Grenadier Guardsman' at Swindon with 'Western Champion' in the background.
