Notes :
(1) Route confirmation required. The first excursion from Berwick to
Newcastle (on the Newcastle & Berwick Railway) was on this day, for the
Oddfellows. Eight hundred passengers were conveyed, and it was said that the
"rumour of open trucks" kept many away.
