(4) John Clifford comments: The original plan on the Looe Branch was to be Liskeard - Moorswater - Looe - Coombe Jn GF - Liskeard. In the days before the tour ran it was realised that, since Looe platform can accommodate only 2 coaches, if 2 locos head down to Looe, there was no way the passengers could alight. An hours break in Looe was part of the tour specification. Hence one loco was left at Moorswater, but the train had to return there to collect it. The climb from Coombe to Liskeard needed two locos anyway. There was a late start from Bristol Temple Meads, while the train was turned. Had this not been done, the leading vehicle on the train would have been the generator coach (17105) which again would have caused a problem for passengers alighting at Looe.
