Notes :
(1) John Clifford comments: The outward run was fine apart from a speed restriction just after Maidstone which meant we had a slow climb of the bank to Bearsted. Arrival at Canterbury was only a min late. On the return there appeared to be a problem with steaming resulting in a slow climb of Martin Mill bank. After Dover the engine slipped a bit causing us to be late through Ashford but there was some good running afterwards. After the Paddock Wood water stop we ran to Tonbridge & were held there on the through line to let a Ramsgate (?) train pass. Subsequently we made up some time only to come to a sudden stop at Cambria Jn. Possibly this was a TPWS fault. Final arrival at Waterloo was 27 min late.
