(3) Mike Harries comments: It was arranged that, since only a short train could go beyond Norwich, those who travelled outwards on the train should travel by coach back to Norwich, while those who elected (or had) to travel from Holt to Norwich were taken from Norwich to Holt by coach. The information with the tickets said that these passengers would be taken to Holt, then travel by Quad-Art to Sheringham, before being taken back to Holt for the change-over of passengers – so that they would get a steam run over the NNR, albeit from Holt to Sheringham. I do not know how these arrangements worked. I was in coach G, the first passenger coach behind the loco, and the crowds at Sheringham were beyond all expectations. We saw the Quad-Art set depart from Sheringham NNR to Holt, where it was in the other platform; it was not clear who was conveyed; but it was certainly working.
