(1) 47851 on rear.
(2) This was planned to be the first of a small number of trains running over this route. The others were planned to run on some Fridays in July & August using locos from the West Coast Railways fleet (33, 37 or 47). However, this was the only one which did run. It is understood that the others were cancelled due to a lack of bookings.
(3) This trip was advertised as being top & tail "Cromptons". The train was turned at Carlisle so the "Crompton" was hauling throughout.
