|Loco Used||steam: 30777 'Sir Lamiel'|
1Z47 : York to Carlisle
1Z71 : Carlisle to York
|30777||York - Darlington - Durham - Low Fell (1) - Haltwhistle - Carlisle|
|30777||Carlisle - (reverse of outward route) - York|
(1) Timing sheet showed watering point as Low Fell Royal Mail, but tour did not travel along the Royal Mail platform loop & took water on the adjacent line, ('Up & Down' Low Fell Single).
Some Comments from John Clifford:
The loco was seen running round the train at York at 1005 with the ECS not arriving at York till 1021, hence we had a late start. We were put on the slow line at Thirsk, again at Croft Jn, from Ferryhill to Tursdale & north of Durham to allow other trains to pass. The stop at Metro Centre was to sort out a problem with the engine's snifting valve. On the return trip we were held at Birtley Jn to let a number of service trains go by but this did mean we got a spirited run back to York.
